The public health impact of obesity is profound and widespread. In 2022, 1 in 8 people in the world were living with obesity. Worldwide adult obesity has more than doubled since 1990, and adolescent obesity has quadrupled. In 2022, 890 million were living with obesity. The economic burden is also significant, with obesity-related costs reaching nearly $1 trillion annually in the U.S. alone. Obesity can lead to increased risk of type 2 diabetes, liver disease, and cardiovascular disease and affects bone health and reproduction. It also increases the risk of certain cancers. Obesity influences the quality of living such as sleeping or moving. Therefore, multimorbidity and polypharmacy are among the greatest challenges to our healthcare system.
SixTen’s CKML platform has pre-built cohorts to better understand the risks and outcomes for patients with multimorbidity.
